think about the entire t-shirt:
The neck opening.
Both rounds.
The opening at the bottom of the t-shirt.
The large holes are visible in the fabric.
Upon closer inspection, six holes can be seen in the fabric. Since these holes go all the way through the t-shirt, they are visible through the cardboard placed behind it.
The solution👇
The calculation is as follows:
1 neck opening.
2 sleeve openings.
1 opening at the bottom of the shirt.
6 holes torn in the fabric.
Total: 10 holes.
This is the answer
generally expected for this riddle. Why do so many people answer 6?
Most participants only count the visible tears in the fabric and forget that the regular openings in a shirt are also… holes!
These challenges demonstrate how our brain automatically filters out certain information that would otherwise be obvious.
And what was your first answer before discovering the solution? 👀
walked into the family brunch with my kids, and before the door even closed behind us, I felt it—the shift. Subtle, almost graceful. A pause in conversation. A quiet tension
